Let’s be honest life can get a little overwhelming sometimes. Between chasing goals, staying consistent, and keeping up with everything around me, I realized I needed a routine. Nothing fancy or overly structured. Just something soft, peaceful, and mine.
Here’s a simple daily routine I have been practicing that helps me stay grounded, productive, and glowing from the inside out. Maybe it can inspire your own rhythm too. 💛
🌅 Morning: Start With Peace
I used to scroll my phone first thing, and honestly, it just made me anxious. Now I start with:
- Prayer & Bible reading (even if it’s just one verse)
- A few minutes of journaling or gratitude
- Washing my face, brushing my edges, and drinking water
📖 Verse of the Day:
“This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.” – Psalm 118:24
That reminder alone changes how I see the day ahead.
☕ Mid-Morning: Move Around & Freshen Up
After a slow morning, I try to move around a bit, stretch, dance to music, or just walk around the house. It helps me wake up fully and feel more present.
Then I freshen up:
- Wash my face with cool water
- Tie my hair up or lay my edges
- Swipe on a little lip gloss (especially if I’m going out)
💡 I am still learning about things like moisturizers or sunscreen, but for now, I’m keeping it very simple. And honestly, that’s okay.
📝 Afternoon: Focus Time
This is when I do most of my work or content planning. I keep a to-do list and try not to overpack it. I also pause to:
- Take water breaks
- Play music (worship or lo-fi)
- Eat something nourishing (or just not skip lunch 😅)
🌇 Evening: Unwind & Reflect
Once the day winds down, I slow things down too:
- Wash off any makeup or dust from the day
- Take a cool shower
- Light a candle or play soft music
- Read something light or journal how the day went
And of course, one more quiet moment with God before bed. A short devotional or a quiet prayer to say, “Thank You, Lord. I made it through today.”
💤 Night Routine = Self Care
It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Just a few intentional habits like:
- Applying lip balm
- Braiding my hair or wearing my bonnet
- Turning my phone face down to avoid night scrolling
- Sleeping with peace in my heart
Conclusion:
My routine isn’t perfect, but it’s mine. It keeps me balanced, soft, and connected to what matters. Whether you’re a student, entrepreneur, stay-at-home sister, or working girl – you deserve peace and routine too.
